Will Your Disaster Recovery Plan Work?

Many companies and individuals know enough to backup their sensitive and important data. However, a good percentage of those people never actually verify that they can successfully restore the backed up data and don't find out until its too late that their backups are no good. The same is true of disaster recovery plans. A recent study by Veritas software shows that of those who have disaster recovery plans, 72% have never tested it to make sure it will work in the event of a disaster. Many also fail to realize the importance of keeping the disaster recovery plan up to date. The perfect plan that was created 5 years ago may not work at all in a disaster today.
