Security expert Tim Mullen has written an interesting article on SecurityFocus.com. The article, titled Lost In Translation, discusses some of the ways that Information Security is misunderstood. It is difficult to prove ROI (return on investment) to the board when the result of buying all that new technology and all those long hours you put in is that nothing happens. It is a sort of reverse-ROI. If you invest in security there will be no "return" on investment, but if you don't invest in security the impact on your bottomline could be 10 times worse.
