Sasser Worm Exploits MS04-011 Vulnerability

A new worm is spreading rapidly and has been bumped up to a Medium criticality ranking by most antivirus vendors. Dubbed "Sasser" because it exploits a buffer overflow in LSASS (Local Security Authority Server Service), the worm can spread from vulnerable machine to vulnerable machine without the user needing to open an email attachment or interact in any way.
