INDUCE Act Legislation

Tuesday June 29, 2004
Senator Hatch is once again introducing legislation aimed at providing broad power to the RIAA and MPAA to fight their war against the P2P networks such as Kazaa and Grokster. The INDUCE (Inducement Devolves into Unlawful Child Exploitation Act) bill is thinly veiled behind a cloak of fighting against child pornography to make it difficult for other elected officials to vote against it, but it is rather apparent that this is just another in a long line of attempts by Hatch to grant sweeping powers and institute draconian measures for the RIAA and MPAA to use in battling nefarious pre-teens who download songs from P2P networks.
