Enterprise Level Spyware Protection

Sunday July 18, 2004
I have focused on spyware a couple of times in the past. A recent example is the 5 Steps To Protect Yourself From Spyware article. There are also links to tools and utilities to help users detect and remove spyware from their systems in Free Spyware and Adware Removal Tools. These tips and tools are great for individual users, but fail to address the growing issue of spyware in corporate networks. Network and security administrators may have protected the network with a firewall and may be detecting and removing viruses at the mail server or desktop level (or both), but very few companies have any sort of process, much less technology, in place to handle spyware. According to this TechNewsWorld article Webroot Software has a new enterprise level spyware detection and removal application that may help.
