Kevin Mitnick Movie Coming to DVD
Thursday September 9, 2004
OK, it is not exactly breaking news in terms of Internet or network security, but Kevin Mitnick was the first of the notorious hackers whose name has become known throughout the world so it seems to be of at least minor relevance. A book, written by the person who tracked Mitnick down, was turned into a movie which was completed in 1998. The movie has never made it to the big screen in the United States though. It isn't because it is being blocked by Republican or Bush sympathizers such as documentaries like Fahrehnheit 911, Soldiers Pay or Outfoxed which highlight the mistakes and corruption of the current administration, but rather because it didn't fair well with test audiences. You can get more information about the movie, it's DVD release in the United States and Kevin Mitnick's thoughts about it in Kevin Poulsen's article on SecurityFocus.com: Mitnick movie comes to the U.S.
