Microsoft Shell Could Spur New "Old" Viruses
Tuesday October 5, 2004
Microsoft has a great new tool planned for the next release of Windows. The Microsoft Shell, code-named "Monad", will be a powerful and flexible tool which will "allow developers or administrators to configure Windows systems using text commands or scripts containing multiple commands" according to an article in Network World Magazine. That is great for administrators and can help remotely managing servers and systems much easier and more efficient. Unfortunately, it also offers a great new tool for malware authors to exploit to remotely attack and control servers and systems as well. For more information see this Network World article: Future Windows component could spur old-school viruses.
