Book Review: Nessus Network Auditing
Saturday November 13, 2004
With the rate of vulnerabilities being discovered and new malware being created, computer and network security seems to be more important with each passing day. There are a number of great commercial products available, but for many areas of network security some of the leading programs can be obtained for free. These open source tools often blaze new paths and set new standards for their commercial counterparts. The Nessus Project, formed in 1998, is an open source project out of which the Nessus Vulnerability Scanner software was created. This book, part of Jay Beale's Open Source Security Series from Syngress Publishing, contains contributions from a variety of Nessus experts including Renaud Deraison- the founder of the Nessus Project.
