Gullibility, Naivete and Ignorance

People know better than to share sensitive, personal information with strangers. There have been enough identity theft horror stories and network security breaches for users to be aware that they need to protect their personal data such as their birth date, mother's maiden name, etc., right? Well it seems that, while people may know that, if that "stranger" is just taking a poll and passing out free tickets to see a play that it must be OK. The exercise was conducted in preparation for the upcoming Infosecurity Europe trade show.
