Book Review: Rootkits (Subverting The Windows Kernel)

Thursday August 18, 2005
Almost 2 years ago I wrote Rootkits: They're Not Just For *Nix Anymore, pointing out that rootkits were an emerging tool becoming more prevalent in Windows attacks. Earlier this year, Microsoft warned of the growing threat of rootkits as well. Greg Hoglund, co-author of Exploiting Software, and Jamie Butler have teamed up to write this comprehensive and ground-breaking reference providing tremendous detail on the inner-workings of the Windows operating system and the tricks and tools used to maintain stealth and hide rootkits within the system. For more about the book, see my review: Book Review: Rootkits- Subverting The Windows Kernel.
