Microsoft Unveils Beta of OneCare

Monday August 29, 2005
Microsoft has a new product coming soon called OneCare. The purpose of OneCare is to provide a one-stop-shopping maintenance and protection program for Windows computers. In the Beta version, OneCare includes antivirus protection as well as a firewall. OneCare also has automated tuneup and backup / restore capabilities. This initial version does not contain the Microsoft anti-spyware, but Microsoft does plan to include it in OneCare by the time it is released. Check back later this week for my first look at the OneCare Beta release.
