December 2005 Microsoft Security Bulletins
Wednesday December 14, 2005
Microsoft released their final 2 Security Bulletins for 2005 yesterday. One of them is rated as Important and the other is Critical. The Critical Security Bulletin is related to a cumulative patch for Internet Explorer which actually repairs 4 different flaws. One of those flaws is already being exploited in the wild, so it is advised that you apply the patch as soon as possible. According to eEye Digital Security, Microsoft also fixes an issue with the Sony BMG copy protection rootkit which has gotten so much negative publicity by disabling the ActiveX control used by the product. For more details about both Security Bulletins and links to the appropriate patches and updates, see December 2005 Microsoft Security Bulletins.
