January 2006 Microsoft Security Bulletins

Last week, Microsoft released a patch for the WMF image handling exploit ahead of schedule. The exploit took the world by surprise and caused concern because of the ease with which an attacker could execute a remote attack against a vulnerable system. Today, the official Security Bulletin and patch release day for January, Microsoft released the official Security Bulletin (MS06-001) that goes with the WMF exploit patch as well as two more Critical Security Bulletins.
