Zero-Day Exploit Hits Internet Explorer

Friday March 24, 2006
News of a critical vulnerability in Microsoft's Internet Explorer web browser has been circulating since last Friday. The zero-day exploit is the second flaw discovered in IE in the past week. Security firm Secunia raised the threat level to "Extremely Critical" after an exploit was discovered in the wild. The exploit is not malicious or destructive, but it could be. Microsoft has confirmed the existence and severity of the flaw and is working to create a patch. For more details, read the Microsoft Security Advisory or this Yahoo News article.
