Myspace.com Used To Target Victims

Saturday March 25, 2006
Because social networking sites such as Myspace.com are designed for the sharing of personal information and the creation of new friends and acquaintances, it makes a ripe target for sexual predators and other criminals looking for victims. According to this News.com article, six men have been arrested and a seventh is still being sought in conjunction with a rape and robbery that occurred when a woman met in real life with the men she had met through Myspace.com. For more details about precautions to take when using social networking sites, read Using Myspace.com Safely.
