Book Review: Hacker's Challenge 3

Wednesday May 10, 2006
The book is on the streets! Hacker's Challenge and Hacker's Challenge 2 are two of my favorite books on network security. The short story scenario with a challenge and solution section allowed me to learn while being entertained. It reminded me of my younger days reading Encyclopedia Brown or Hardy Boys books. I was thrilled when I was invited to co-author the latest edition of Hacker's Challenge. It was an honor and a privilege to work with some of the authors of the previous books, as well as bringing new authors into the project such as Himanshu Dwivedi and Anton Chuvakin. I thought it would be a little egotistical to review my own book, so I asked a fellow About.com Guide, Stephen Chapman, to review Hacker's Challenge 3, for me. Check out the review of Hacker's Challenge 3 to see what Stephen thinks of the new book. You can also see my preview of Hacker's Challenge 3 which includes links to a sample chapter by Himanshu Dwivedi that you can read online.
