Book Review: PGP & GPG (Email For The Practical Paranoid)

Monday June 12, 2006
Michael W. Lucas has a knack for grinding complex subjects down to the essential information the reader needs to understand in order to apply the concepts. His previous book, Cisco Routers For The Desperate, provided readers with the information they needed to know to get around in and configure Cisco routers in only 120 pages. This book isn't much different. Lucas takes on a subject which is confusing to most mere mortals- cryptography- and explains in simple terms how and why you would use encryption with your email software. Specifically, Lucas examines PGP and its kin, OpenPGP and GnuPG, to show readers how to use these programs to protect and secure their email.
