2006 Top 100 Security Tools
Thursday June 22, 2006
It began in 2000 as the Top 50. It grew in 2003 to be the Top 75. Fyodor, creator of the NMap Scanner, has once again surveyed the members of the nmap-hackers mailing list and has now created the 2006 version, the Top 100 Security Tools. With 3,243 readers responding, there were a total of 42 new tools that did not appear on the Top 75 in 2003. One of them, the Metasploit Framework, even made the Top 10. For more details about the survey results, take a look at my summary of the Insecure.org Top 100 Security Tools.
