Malware Milestone

This isn't the type of milestone where you get a cake and ice cream, like a birthday, or the kind of milestone where you get a gold-plated pen, like a 50-year anniversary working for the same company. McAfee announced that they have named and created protection for their 200,000th malware threat. Woo hoo! According to Stuart McClure, a Senior Vice President of Global Research and Threats with McAfee and one of the authors of Hacking Exposed-5th Edition, it took 18 years to reach 100,000 malware, but less than 2 years to double that number to 200,000. That means there are 200,000 reasons to make sure you are running updated antivirus software floating around the Internet.
