The recent alleged terror plot foiled by British Intelligence has led to drastic changes for what sorts of things passengers are allowed to carry on planes with them. Curious - if your “packed” laptop is lost due to lost luggage, is the airport liable for it and the information contained on it? I’m thinking “not”…

With the recent Heathrow Airport terror threats it is just right for security personnel to make sure that anything deemed dangerous; including cellphones, laptops, pda’s, etc… be included only through luggage. A recent advisory even included certain types of liquids and gels. If safety is the most important issue being considered then we have to respect their decision rather than suffer the consequences.
