California Legislates Wireless Security

Monday September 4, 2006
A bill in California has passed through state Congress and now awaits the Governor's signature to become law. The law will require the makers of wireless networking equipment to provide more guidance on the security issues inherent with using a wireless network and more visible instruction on how to secure the equipment. Wireless network security continues to be a big issue as more and more people install wireless networking equipment or use devices with wireless networking capabilities, but have little or no understanding of the security risks involved. You can read Introduction to Wireless Network Security or take the free WiFi Security 101 course to learn more about protecting your wireless data.
