Seven Habits of Highly Insecure Employees
Friday August 31, 2007
This slide show from Forbes.com illustrates what they feel are the 7 biggest information secuirty mistakes made by employees. It covers things like using (or losing) USB flash drives, forwarding corporate email to 3rd-party webmail accounts and more. The visual element of illustrating with photographs keeps it interesting. You can also read the accompanying article by Andy Greenberg, Accounting For Human Error, which is similar to an article I wrote in March of 2005. The people, not the tools and technology, are the problem and the solution. It seems that with information security, the more things change, the more they stay the same.
