Critical Flaws in Java

Friday October 5, 2007
Sun Microsystems released updates for the Java Runtime Environment which could allow an attacker to compromise or control a vulnerable system. Systems running the Java Runtime Environment are susceptible whether the platform is on Windows, Linux or Solaris systems. According to Secunia, the flaws are Highly Critical, and could allow an attacker to bypass security, manipulate data, expose system or sensitive information, or access vulnerable systems remotely. Users should download and apply the appropriate updates from Sun. For more details about the flaws, read the Secunia Advisory.
