It is a slow month for Security Bulletins from Microsoft this month. It is a good thing too, since Microsoft is continuing to have issues with WSUS, the mechanism used by many organizations to download and distribute patches in their enterprise. There are only two bulletins this month. One of them is rated as Critical, and the other is Important. MS07-061 supersedes MS06-045 and resolves a publicly known vulnerability that could allow an attacker to execute malicious code remotely on virtually any Windows platform. The second bulletin, MS07-062 deals with a vulnerability that could allow an attacker to spoof DNS content and redirect users to malicious web sites.
