What does it take to protect a home computer? If you could only have three security products installed to secure your computer against malware, malicious attacks, and other threats, what would those three security products be? Well, with 168 readers responding to the poll, Antivirus software and a Personal Firewall are easily the top 2. Antivirus received the vote of 85% of respondents, while Personal Firewall came in with 79%. The third place product is a different story. Antispyware is the clear winner of third place, with 54% of respondents supporting it, but both Wireless Network Security (with 28%), and Intrusion Detection / Prevention (with 26%) received a significant number of votes as well. If you are getting a new computer from Santa this year, or just shopping for new software to protect your current computer, make sure you have Antivirus, Personal Firewall, and Antispyware protection.
