8 Microsoft Security Bulletins; 5 Critical

Tuesday April 8, 2008
Microsoft released 8 new Security Bulletins for the month of April, bringing the total for 2008 up to 25. That rules out approximately 15% of the more optimistic voters from the poll we did to start the year off. Five of the Security Bulletins are rated as Critical by Microsoft, including one affecting Microsoft Project, and the semi-permanent Security Bulletin that includes the cumulative update for Internet Explorer. There are also vulnerabilities within the Windows kernel which could allow privilege escalation. Take a look at the April 2008 Microsoft Security Bulletin summary for more details, and links you can use to download the appropriate patches or find viable workarounds to protect your PC.
