Laptops and Airline Travel

When the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) banned laptops from being carried on to airplanes in the wake of an attempted terrorist attack, I wrote an article detailing steps to enable users to safely transport their laptops on flights as checked luggage. However, the TSA lifted that ban a long time ago, making my article outdated. Even if you are taking your laptop on the plane with you as a carry-on though, there are security precautions you should take to ensure your laptop, and the data it contains, survive the trip with you.
