No Critical Security Bulletins for July

Thursday July 17, 2008
For July, Microsoft released only 4 new Security Bulletins and none of them were Critical. Actually, all 4 were rated as Important, which typically means they are serious, but that they do not have the capacity to be exploited remotely or allow an attacker to completely hijack a system. In this case, there is one Security Bulletin (MS08-038) which is capable of enabling both remote execution and system takeover, but is rated as Important nonetheless. For more details and the links to download the appropriate patches, check out Juy 2008 Microsoft Security Bulletins.
