Survey Results from Blackhat

Thursday August 21, 2008
The Blackhat 2008 security conference was held recently in Las Vegas. Along with the RSA Security conference held in San Francisco at the beginning of each year, Blackhat is one of the biggest security events of the year. I was unfortunately not able to attend this year, but I have seen some interesting statistics. On the Symantec blog they have a post called The Blackhat 2008 Attendee Survey Results Are In! which provides some interesting perspectives. For example, the two leading security concerns for companies in the coming year, according to the respondents, are Web 2.0 applications and virtualization. Another interesting number is that more respondents cited security concerns with Windows XP (53%) than with Windows Vista (37%). Take a look at the blog post from the link above for more about Blackhat 2008 and the attendee survey results.
