Symantec Goes on Shopping Spree

The economy is in a tailspin...plummet...freefall. Apparently Symantec has not gotten the memo and the credit crunch seems to be having little impact on their shopping plans. The security software vendor and professional services company recently announced plans to purchase PC Tools, an antispyware vendor, and nSpace, a virtual workspace developer. But, the feather in the cap for Symantec's most recent buying binge is well-known email security company MessageLabs. Symantec has agreed to purchase the British messaging security firm for $695 million in cash.
