Share Your Opinion

While I have slowed down on book and product reviews in the past year, they are one of the features of this site that continue to get the most traffic. When readers are looking for answers to protect their computer system or to understand computer and network security better, they prefer to get some objective 3rd-party feedback to guide them and ensure they don't blow their money on something that won't work. That is why sites like Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, and others allow visitors to give their proverbial '2 cents'.

Well, now you can share your opinion here as well. If you visit a product or book review, like the recent review of eBlaster 6.0, you will now find a button the bottom of the page that reads "Write a Review". Perhaps you have used the product and you disagree with my assessment. Maybe you love the product and want to support it and recommend it to others. Maybe you had serious issues with it and want to warn other users not to waste their time and money. Whatever your motivation is, you are now welcome to share your opinions of the products and books I review (or have reviewed in the past).

This is a tremendous opporunity for the community at large. Those of you who frequent the site on a regular basis can look to the user feedback in addition to my reviews to help form a more comprehensive assessment of a product before spending your money. You now have an opportunity to help build the value of this site and to help other readers to make wise choices about the products and books they buy. You also get to 'keep me honest' so to speak. If I rate a product poorly, or rate a product as spectacular, those who disagree with me can share their views and experiences to keep things balanced.

I plan to pick up the pace again of book and product reviews. If you have any specific products, or even product categories (like firewalls, or antivirus, etc.) that you are considering purchasing and you would like to see some reviews of what is currently available, send me an email and let me know and I will try to get a review posted that can help you out.
