If your children are like mine, they are always in search of funny cat videos on Youtube. Cats talking, cats standing upright like a person, cats playing guitars, you name it.

Sometimes their YouTube searches can take an accidental wrong turn and they can end up seeing something that scares the stew out of them or is completely inappropriate. After a few times down the wrong path, I decided it was time to find out what  YouTube parental control offerings were available. In my featured article, YouTube Parental Controls, I'll show you a couple of settings you can modify to make YouTube a little safer for your child.

Even with YouTube parental controls enabled, your child can still happen upon inappropriate content, so you'll still want to keep a watchful eye on what their viewing.

Have you found a more effective YouTube parental control method other than the one outlined in the article linked above? Let us know in the comments section below:

Some products, including McGruff SafeGuard child-safe browser, come with YouTube filtering. In the same manner that web pages are classified, the descriptions for YouTube videos are classified, and it blocks inappropriate videos for children & teens. See gomcgruff.com/browser

One option is the Google Chromecast which lets you watch Youtube videos on your living room tv. I blogged about it here: http://http://blog.vimware.com/2013/09/google-chromecast-great-for-youtube-and.html
