Introduction to Security Tools
Computer and network security is a complex and growing field. Even for seasoned experts it is sometimes difficult to keep up with new technologies, tools and terminology and increasingly security experts tend to specialize in one specific aspect of computer and network security such as firewalls or intrusion detection.This course will provide a brief description and explanation of the prevailing computer and network security tools and technologies to acquaint you with them at an introductory level. Each lesson will also be accompanied by a quiz to help reinforce the information and the course will end with a Final Exam which will test what you have learned from the whole course.
There are a few things you should be aware of before you sign up for the Introduction to Security Tools class:
- You cannot change your email address in the middle of the class, so be sure to use an address you'll have for at least 7 days (6 lessons plus the Final Exam).
- I will not reply to the "anti-spam" measures for this class. If you're using anti-spam measures that require confirmation from me you will need to use a different email address or turn it off for this course.
- If you have any questions or comments throughout the course you can email me. You can also post any questions or comments to the Forums so that other members can help you with or benefit from the answers that are posted.
