PC Annoyances

The Bottom Line

Steve Bass has provided tons of helpful and useful tips in his PC World magazine articles. This book will provide at least one "a-ha!" tip that you've been searching for all these months to just about any PC user. If you use Windows- check this book out.

Guide Review - Book Review: PC Annoyances

Truth be told- I learned more information that helped me pass the A+ exam from reading PC World magazine than from any other single source or exam prep book. In my opinion, one of the best ways to learn what to do or what not to do is to read the letters written by the readers and the responses from the PC World staff. It certainly seems to be quicker and more painless than learning it all yourself the hard way.

Steve Bass takes that same sort of style and flavor he uses in his PC World magazine pieces and provides a wonderful collection of tips, tricks and hints that will help you cure the irritations, frustrations, and, as the title suggests, annoyances that your Windows PC is causing you.

I believe that almost anyone will find at least one solution to something that has been annoying them for months or years that they wish there was just some way to change it, turn it on, turn it off or whatever else. Some may find idea after idea and tip after tip.

The book is similar in scope to another book I reviewed recently- Windows XP Hacks. These kinds of books provide a wealth of information and help readers do things to really get the most out of their computers. Many of the tips and tricks require a comfort level with getting around Windows- or at least a sense of adventure- but the intrepid user will find much satisfaction from implementing these tips and hints.

I think almost any user of Windows would appreciate this book and find it money well spent to buy it.
