Welcome back! Last week marked the second Tuesday of the month which means that Microsoft did their monthly Security Bulletin release. Unfortunately they didn't address a critical Internet Explorer flaw which is already being used in the wild against vulnerable machines. I interviewed Gary McGraw, co-author of Exploiting Software, to talk about the state of security and the place that secure software development has in solving the problem. I also wrote a short article this week about the government's role in information security which highlights a number of past articles regarding various attempts at legislating computer security.
