| September 2004 Microsoft Security Bulletins Microsoft released their security bulletins for the month of September yesterday. There are two this month. MS04-027 is rated as Important and affects the WordPerfect Converter. MS04-028 is rated as Critical and affects the way JPEG graphic images are handled. Exploiting the JPEG vulnerability could result in remote code execution or allowing an attacker to take control of the system. A huge caveat with MS04-028 is that the patch or update must be applied for each affected technology so you may need to apply multiple updates to the same computer to fully protect it from this vulnerability. See the security bulletins for complete details and to download any necessary patches. |
