| Homeland Security Agency Launches Mock Cyberattack In an effort to test the stability and interdependencies of the various critical infrastructure networks the Department of Homeland Security initiated a massive mock cyberattack in late October. These types of drills have been done in the past- you can read about them and some of the results and findings in Dan Verton's Black Ice: The Invisible Threat of Cyberterrorism. This exercise showed once again that there are some areas that need improvement and that the critical infrastructure might not stand up well to a massive strategic attack. Amit Yoran, the newly appointed chief of the National Cyber-Security Division said "The information flow between various sectors was not as smooth as we would perhaps have liked."
