Microsoft Security Bulletins for December

Friday December 12, 2008
We have our final count. The total number of Microsoft Security Bulletins for 2008 is 77 (barring any Critical Security Bulletins that might be rushed out between now and December 31. It is rare- but there is also a Zero-day exploit for Internet Explorer 7 that is circulating in the wild). That means that the 12% of you who predicted between 71 and 80 Security Bulletins in the poll conducted at the end of last year are the winners! Yeah you!

December was a pretty busy month though. There were 8 Security Bulletins released by Microsoft. Six of them are rated as Critical, and 2 of them Important. The affected products include Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and more. Take a look at the summary and apply the appropriate patches and updates to protect your PC and your data. December 2008 Microsoft Security Bulletins
